The demo of Canvas Menagerie for the Trans Rep Game Jam is now out!

Niko is a lifelong actor who’s been down on his luck until he suddenly gets the lead role in a major teen drama. Canvas Menagerie is wholesome slice of life visual novel that follows Niko and his fellow castmates—and crush, celebrity costar Ren—going through their 20s together.

Canvas Menagerie will be our longest work to date, currently sitting at just over 40,000 words and less than 1/3 of the way complete. The story follows Niko (blue hair), a 21 year old transmasc guy who was just hired as the leading man in a major upcoming teen drama. When the cameras are off, he grows closer to his fellow castmates, namely Ren—one of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood who is playing the rival in the show.

The demo features a variety of scenes from the full game and is about an hour long to play.

I hope that this series can be comfy, something where you can take a break from the harsh realities of life and enjoy characters facing smaller struggles, pushing past them and learning how to enjoy their 20s together.
